Parents

Parents and the Child's Right to Play

Parents and carers are invaluable in getting children out to play. It really does make a difference to a child if their parents/carers believe that children have the right to play and that children's play should be at the heart of a healthy community. Take a look at the Bristol based  Playing Out website to see the difference closing the street for play makes to the locals.

Remember Play isn't just fabulous for physical development and fitness, it also helps children make friends, try out new experiences, raises self esteem and builds skills that will remain valuable throughout childhood to adulthood.

Parents and Play Champions

Some local parents and carers have become Play Champions, others are quietly supporting their children in their role as Junior Play champions.

Internet Safety

Unsurprisingly many parents and carers are concerned about the safety of their children and want them to stay free from harm. The Keep Playing team will only work with children and young people who have been given permission by their parents and carers to take part in the project. All Play Champions are welcome to drop out of the project when they like and contribute as much or as little as they are comfortable with. All photographs and other media on the site relating to children and young people have been submitted with parental/carer consent.

The Keep Playing Team moderate this website, you won't find us posting on FaceBook or Twitter or other  social networking sites, as we are keen to ensure the quality of our project and the safety of children and young people featured on it. Though people are welcome to signpost this site if they want to recommend it to others.

Please contact Suzannah Walker (Keep Playing worker) to let the Keep Playing team  know if you think an item on this website is inappropriate and we will respond accordingly
